Things I am thankful for which I wasn’t when I was just a teen

Family. Need I say more?

Small town upbringing – to make me see choices galore.

The knowledge, among other things, that if I can’t live with myself, nobody can.

Or that friends are seasonal and should enjoy their company without any 5-year plan.

Getting over the fact that my hair is never going to look like a Kardashian’s

But being just so happy that it’s decent than a Martian’s.

To have learnt how to say no and not feel guilty afterwards.

To respect other’s space and decide when to retort to not so kind words.

The relief that came from being finally comfortable in my own skin

And to be happy even in the absence of friends and kin.
