Pinterest! That little IE window which brings in a fresh current of art and creativity to an otherwise stale, corporate-jargons-laden existence, I owe this post to you.
It’s a regular activity – skipping through the pictures in Pineterst and oohing and aaahing at all those creative thinking levels and comparing them to my dismally small one. But this weekend that rare sporadic wave of creativity struck and I made a dream catcher from scratch. Yes, it looks like it was made by a 5-year-old but oh, does it have the I-made-it-myself charm!
Things you need? Lots of string (differently coloured? So much fun), beads, feathers (but please don’t go after the friendly pigeon), something circular like from a key chain or a bangle.
Now just wrap the string around the bangle. Let your imagination run wild. Mix and match colours or twist two different colours together and then wrap. Glue them at points with fabric glue. Once you are done with the wrapping, pick another spool of thread and tie knots on the bangle from point to point, such that finally there is a hole in the middle for your nicest dreams to come through 🙂
Once done, major part of it is over and we are talking just 20 minutes of it. Now hang more threads on it and attach your beads, feathers etc to the sides, add bling by gluing on sequins.. Also leave one string on top to hang your dream catcher on top of your bed.
Happy dreaming 🙂
